Inventors Digest's editor-in-chief since 2016, the second-longest such tenure for the publication that began in 1985. He spent a combined twenty-five years as both a writer and editor at the Detroit Free Press and Charlotte Observer, the latter where he won a Polk Award and was a Pulitzer Prize finalist. He also was a beat writer with the 1984 World Series champion Detroit Tigers and longtime correspondent with The Sporting News.
