The votes have been tallied and the results are in – three college student teams will vie for a shot at $800 at the 2010 March Madness for the Mind exhibition in San Francisco this Saturday.
Inventors Digest hosted more than a dozen student videos in partnership with the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance, which holds the annual March Madness for the Mind event.
The winning team will be announced and awarded $800 on Saturday, March 27 at the Exploratorium in San Francisco. Inventors Digest also will be announcing its 2010 Collegiate Alt-Energy Challenge.
The videos were open for public voting March 8-19. More than 3,000 votes were cast.
The final 3 team videos, as voted by the public are:
- OsmoPure from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. A low-cost water purification device for developing countries. Watch the Video
- The Enhancing Bio-Morphological Helmet from Michigan Technological University. A new breed of cranial protection. Watch the video
- The Human-powered Nebulizer from Marquette University. Nebulizers deliver aerosolized liquid medicine deep into the lungs. Watch the video

March Madness for the Mind is the acclaimed annual showcase of innovations from the NCIIA’s top E-Teams. The exhibition takes place each year during NCIIA’s annual conference, and is an opportunity for student teams to demonstrate their products and receive local and national media coverage. 10-15 teams are selected to participate in this high profile exhibition, which involves an evening exhibition for NCIIA conference attendees as well as an exhibition open to the general public.
