The broadcast is 8 p.m. EST, 5 p.m. PST.
Khubani built his fortune as a leader in the direct response television world, and is the man responsible behind PedEgg, Windshield Wonder, Go Duster and scores of other inexpensive, mass-market products sold in ubiquitous As Seen On TV ads. For any product developer and inventor, the allure of such national exposure is powerful.
Critics call Khubani a knock-off king, an accusation he vigorously denies.
Khubani and his two brothers, Andy and Chuck, run related businesses. Since 1996, the three have fended off at least a dozen lawsuits, most dealing with patent or trademark infringement, including one brought by the National Audubon Society in 2000.

Additionally, TeleBrands in December 2008 agreed to pay $7 million to settle a lawsuit brought by the Federal Trade Commission. The FTC claimed TeleBrands engaged in deceptive advertising for its Ab Force product. Khubani says it was cheaper to settle than to keep fighting what he deemed an unfair attack by the federal government.
Eager to bring new products into the voracious DRTV pipeline, he beefed up the invention-submission part of his business in 2008 and began hosting “Inventor’s Day” events. Every other month, either from his home base in New Jersey or in other cities, about 300 inventors usually sign up for the events. From those, he and his staff whittle that number to 35. Each inventor is given 5 minutes to pitch him and his team of reviewers.
Of every 100 ideas, TeleBrands may select 10 products for test marketing. Of those, maybe one product makes it on air.
Khubani’s appearance tonight is timely. Brian Fried, himself a seasoned inventor, this week just showcased his reusable grocery and bag Pull Ties product on QVC. He tells Inventors Digest that he sold 90 percent of his inventory while he was on air – a terrific first showing.
Additionally, Khubani also will be at the Response Expo trade show next month, where Inventors Digest editor Mike Drummond will moderate a panel featuring thought leaders in the inventing and infomercial industry. The panel will explore do’s and don’ts of getting your product to market through infomercials.
What’s the catch? You have to sign up for this free Webinar tonight to be eligible.
