So in my lovely hometown of Stonington, Conn., for the first time this year, we’ve had a frost and that same night the thermometer hit 36° F with the stars above, which means one thing – it’s that time of year again!
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, so is Black Friday when millions hit the stores to make good on some of the best deals of the year.
Now as kids we are supposed to be the gift experts. Who’s better at ripping up wrapping paper with wide-eye amazement than kids? No one. This alone qualifies us as the gift/present experts.
Now the coolest presents are the ones no one has seen before – new technology aka new innovation.
So what new innovation will we see this year…?
Perhaps Apple will hit it big time AGAIN. I’m a Mac guy at heart and these people just don’t stop inventing. It’s awesome. Every iteration has something new. Wireless keyboards and the magic mouse were some of the last crop of offerings.
“I’m a PC and Windows 7 was my Idea”
Although I’m not a PC, and Windows 7 wasn’t my idea, you’ve got to hand it to the company that is combining all of Windows programs into an 8.9 inch screen, at a ridiculously low price for a computer.
Remember a couple of years ago when the Segway came out? That had to be one of the coolest innovations ever. It was phenomenal. And to its inventor Dean Kamen, founder of FIRST as well as many other extraordinary inventions, you are amazing, a true role model and idol to me as an inventor and thousands of kids around the globe who love inventing.
What will this year’s Segway be? Will we witness the release of something that will change the world?
That’s the beauty of innovation. It’s brand new. One innovation, one idea, can change things as we know it. Who knows, maybe it’ll be in wrapping paper under the tree.
