Pat Vastano of Piscataway, N.J., believes he’s invented a device that will save lives – illuminated knobs for gas stoves and ovens. The easy-to-install, battery-operated knobs light up when rotated to the “on” position. Vastano succeeded in getting a utility patent (No. 6,733,146) in May 2004 for his knobs.
