Bill Crutcher, president of the Yankee Invention Exposition, just sent word they’re canceling the event. Here is his e-mail to us:

The Board of Directors of Yankee Invention Exposition, Inc. have reluctantly decided not to hold the fifteenth annual 2009 Expo this October as planned.

The major reason is a lack of response from exhibitors, due perhaps to the down economy, which points to a smaller expo than is feasible. We understand that we are not the only ones who canceled invention expos this year, so we believe that the economy is a major factor.

Going forward, our organization sees a clearly perceived need of the individual inventor or small business for education as to how to move an idea into the marketplace. It is our intent to fill this need.
